– Run differential at +26 (up 35 from two weeks ago)

As of a few weeks ago, the Brewers couldn’t hit anything. Now, they’ve reeled off a franchise record nine straight games with at least ten hits. Not even the best of baseball prognosticators could have seen this one coming. Of course, playing the Astros and Cubs in nine of their last twelve probably helped the matter. Albeit a series at home with the Cardinals, the offense remained solid at a little over seven runs a contest.
Fans in Milwaukee can only hope for a little more consistency, similar to what the pitching staff has been producing all season long. The starters rank 5th in the league with 70 quality starts.
If I had to make a prediction right now, I would say this Brewers team is a playoff team. My only concern is whether they can go on the road and beat San Francisco, Philadelphia or Atlanta in a playoff series. No matter what happens, it should be a fun ride if the Brew Crew keeps doing what they do.

After an off-day on Monday, the Brewers embark on a three-game series in St. Louis with the rival Cardinals. The Cardinals were pissed off in Milwaukee this past week and that’s putting it moderately, so I wouldn’t expect this to be a friendly series at all. Despite losing two to the Brewers, the Cardinals went to Florida and completed a four-game sweep.
Just when you thought it was alright to root for the Pirates, they go and lose ten straight games. If it wasn’t for the Steelers, I’m not sure what fans in that city would do with their selves. Pittsburgh is actually one of the better divisional teams on the road at 28-27, but they did drop all three they played at Miller Park in May. They didn’t fare much better at PNC park either as the Pirates are 0-5 against Milwaukee this season.
